To choose a school management system in Pakistan, start with the work your office does every day: fee collection and dues, attendance, exam results and report cards, and messages to parents. Then shortlist two or three systems that handle those well in English and Urdu, check what each costs for your student count, and run a free trial with one real class before you sign anything.

This guide is written by Skolex, so we're one of the vendors in it. We've kept the comparison to facts each vendor publishes on its own website, with links and the date we checked, so you can verify every line yourself.

What should a Pakistani school look for in a school management system?

The right system depends on your school's size and how you run it today. These are the criteria we'd use, in rough order of how often they decide the choice:

  • Fees and dues. Can it track who has paid, who owes what, and issue receipts? Fee follow-up is where most school offices lose time.
  • Urdu. Can report cards and parent messages go out in Urdu as well as English? Many parents read Urdu more comfortably.
  • Parent communication. Do parents get absence alerts and announcements on their phone, or does the school still rely on class WhatsApp groups?
  • Results and report cards. Does the gradebook produce report cards directly, or does someone retype marks into Word or Excel each term?
  • Teaching tools. Do you want lessons, assignments and quizzes in the same system (an LMS), or only administration?
  • Grades covered. Does it fit every stage you teach, from KG to Matric or O and A Level?
  • Branches. If you run more than one campus, can head office see every branch in one place?
  • Total price. Is it priced per student, per school or per year, and what does that come to for your enrolment?

How much does school management software cost in Pakistan?

Published prices range widely, and vendors price in different ways. Some charge per student, some a flat monthly fee, and some don't publish prices at all. Work out the yearly total for your own student count before comparing.

On the vendors' own published list prices, MjFour and Schooliee cost less than Skolex for a 200-student school, and they price in rupees. Skolex charges a flat USD 200 a month for up to 200 students and includes the LMS (lessons, quizzes, gradebook) alongside administration. Whether that is worth the difference depends on whether you want teaching tools in the same system.

How do the main options compare?

The table below covers seven systems that Pakistani schools commonly shortlist. It shows only what each vendor states publicly.

Competitor details come from each vendor's public website on the date shown. "Not stated" means we didn't find it on that page, not that the product lacks it. Prices are in each vendor's own currency and may have changed; check with the vendor before deciding. Spotted an error? Email contact@skolex.online and we'll correct it.

A few honest notes on reading it:

  • "Not stated" is not "no". It means we didn't find it on the vendor's site. Ask them directly.
  • Schooliee, MjFour and SIMSIN focus on Pakistan. Schooliee and MjFour both feature Urdu prominently.
  • Fedena and QuickSchools are global products priced in US dollars. We found no mention of Urdu on their sites.
  • Teachmint's school ERP pages now redirect to its classroom-hardware site, so check what it currently sells before you shortlist it.

What questions should you ask every vendor?

Use the same list with every vendor, including us, so the answers are comparable:

  1. What does it cost per year for our exact number of students and branches, including setup, training and SMS charges?
  2. Can we see a sample report card and fee receipt in Urdu?
  3. How do parents receive messages: app, SMS or WhatsApp? Is any of it charged per message?
  4. Who moves our existing records from Excel or paper registers, and is that included?
  5. Which grades and exam systems does the gradebook handle (KG, primary, Matric, O and A Level)?
  6. Where is our school's data stored, and can we export all of it if we leave?
  7. What support do we get, in which hours, and in which languages?
  8. Is there a free trial, and does it need a card?

How should you run a trial?

A trial tells you more than any demo. Keep it small and real:

  • Pick one class and one term's work. Enter real students, mark attendance for a week and send one announcement.
  • Print a report card in English and in Urdu and show it to two or three parents.
  • Record one fee payment and check the receipt and the dues list.
  • Time the office's daily tasks before and after. That's your real comparison.

Skolex's trial is free for 30 days for up to 50 students, with no card needed. See pricing for the full plans.

Where does Skolex fit?

Skolex suits private schools and school chains that want one system for both teaching and administration, from KG through Grade 12. It covers lessons, quizzes and the gradebook alongside attendance, fees, report cards and parent communication, with report cards and announcements in English and Urdu.

If you only need fee collection at the lowest possible price, a fees-focused local product may suit you better. Our page for Pakistani schools covers how Skolex works in Pakistan in more detail.

How often is this guide updated?

We re-check every vendor's website each quarter and update the table and the "last verified" dates. If you spot something out of date, email contact@skolex.online and we'll correct it.
